Winter food from the hills

The winter shelf: gahat, bhatt, ghee and honey for the cold months.

Winter is when the hill kitchen is at its heaviest. Gahat and bhatt are traditionally eaten in the cold months, as ras, churkani and dubke with rice, and madua rotis come off the tawa with a spoon of ghee. Honey goes into warm milk and tea.

The shelves below carry the winter dals, hill ghee, honey and flours, and the woollens the shops make for the same season.

The season runs December to February. Each shop packs and sends its own parcels; the delivery date for your PIN is on every product page.
